The grizzly bears win but the poets describe it beautifully.
Today I did a portrait of one of my favorite poets - Billy Collins. Billy is awesome. He is to intellectuals what keggers are to college fraternities. Check him out: Billy Collins
Here's a piece I drew today for the Illustration Friday blog. I've been teaching filmmaking using the film Run Lola Run in my class this week so I've been seeing metaphorical signs everywhere in life.
Here's a self portrait I did today as a demonstration to my AP art class. I have the students working digitally in photoshop with layers to create self portraits with hand written text and drawings. I usually toss the demos I do but I like this one.
Happy Mother's day to all those moms out there. Here's a painting I did for my grandmother. I bought her the flowers (purple is her favorite color) and painted them as well. Go grams!
I went to see Tim Gunn speak last night at the Book Review in Huntington. It was pretty cool to hear his story and how he redeveloped the Fashion program at Parsons. He faced a ton of pressure and pulled it off. He also started out as a fine artist which was cool. I found it amazing to hear how he was slowly working into the Project Runway show and really didn't make a ton of money until recently.
Here was my entry for the Insomnia photo contest. The theme was "growth" and I only had an hour to come up with something so I was pretty happy with it. I was disqualified because it wasn't sent in on an Apple computer. Sucks! It took a half hour to upload it because the server was overloaded.
