Hotlanta and me...

I'm in Atlanta this week with Adobe for the N.E.C.C. Here's a photo from my first night (at the Braves game). It's not quite what I expected but I guess that's the fun of traveling. The people are cool and I love the grillz, we'll see how it goes!

Children's book

Here's one of the drawings I did recently for a children's book I'm working on. I know this feeling well.

Slightly smaller

I bought a mini-sketchbook that I've been using when I don't feel like dragging the big one around. It's kind of interesting because the drawings change a little. Here's a drawing I did the other day in NYC.

Illustration Friday: Rejection

I did this drawing at a recent conference on new technology in the high school classroom. I wondered how all the old technology must feel (before spellcheck was standard). I understand that kind of rejection.

School's out for summer!

Today was the last day of classes. It's always a little weird as a teacher. It's like that movie Groundhog day. Sometimes I wish I could just graduate like my students. Having been through this strange transition period ten times now I know everything will seem terrific tomorrow. Good luck to all my graduates! Enjoy art school, college, the beach, or whatever!

Illustration Friday: "Dude" Suit

I always love going to weddings and seeing the grizzled guys wearing suits for first the time since their high school graduation. Here's my homage to all those dudes!

I also know what it feels like to be at the wedding in a really uncomfortable suit.

Operation Monday

It's the last regular week of school for me and also my last week in my college classes so I have a ton of work and a week to do it in. Whoo!

Illustration Friday: Paradise (with some demons)

I'm a high school teacher and school ends in 6 days so I'm about to embark on a summer vacation filled with traveling to different cities. I work with Adobe so I get to be an artist all summer. Paradise! (You can see some of the end of the school year demons involved in this work as well)

Kerri Needles vs. the World

Here's a portrait I did for my sister. Her birthday this weekend.
